The ACC program is making preparations for their 3rd annual Christmas Craft Show. The event will be held in order to raise funds for students to travel to their yearly Michigan Society of Medical Assistants Conference. The networking opportunity helps open the eyes for students as they learn more about their career choice while allowing others to learn what medical assisting is all about.“People get us confused with ‘Certified Nursing Assistants’ and with Nurses.’ So they don’t really know where we work or what we do so we’re trying to have contact with the public and let them know what it is that we learn, and where we work,” Medical Assistant Program Director, Kimberly Salziger said. The craft show won’t just be a day of Christmas shopping but also a way for residents to get their health checked.“This also helps the students. When the public comes in they can help us out by letting the students check their vital signs. That gives them about 100 people so they can do their vital signs, that they’ve never worked on before,” she explained. The Christmas Craft Show will be held Saturday, December 9th, starting at 9 am until 4 pm and Sunday, December 10th at 11 am until 4 pm inside of the Alpena Community College Besser Technical Building.AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to MoreAddThisContinue ReadingPrevious Unemployment Goes Relatively Unchanged in Northeast Michigan for OctoberNext Operation Toys for Kids, Feed a Family Still Needs Donations for Christmaslast_img
