Liverpool have ‘no chance’ of landing Italian ace, says agent

first_img1 Stefano Okaka in action for Sampdoria Liverpool have been told they have no chance of bringing Sampdoria star Stefano Okaka to the club in January, according to the player’s agent.Brendan Rodgers had targeted the 25-year-old powerhouse to address his shortage of strikers, but it now appears even a bid of more than £10 million could not tempt the Serie A side to cash in on one of their prized assets.According to Rai Sport 1, the Reds watched the Italy international score in Sampdoria’s 3-1 win against Verona on Monday night and believe the forward has all the qualities to succeed in the Premier League.However Andrea Cattoli, Okaka’s representative, insisted the striker is only focused on performing well for his current club, adding there is “no chance” of a January switch to Anfield.“The player’s mind is only on Sampdoria, and he wants to do well in this shirt,” Cattoli told the Italian TV channel.“He’s come into his own in thanks to the great work done by manager Sinisa Mihajlovic. At the moment there’s no chance of a transfer.”Okaka has already enjoyed one short spell in England – playing eleven games for west London side Fulham during the 2010/2011 campaign.last_img
