first_imgLiam Walsh watches on during action between Maiden City Academy and Celtic last year.SOCCER: A talented Donegal soccer starlet has been selected for the Republic of Ireland U17 squad.Liam Walsh from Kerrykeel plays for the Finn Harps U17 academy side and his impressive performances have led to an international call-up.He is the only player from Donegal selected on the Republic of Ireland U17 squad and will attend a training camp next week. The Ireland side is managed by former Finn Harps legend Tom Mohan.Liam is the younger brother of former Finn Harps, Derry City and Ballymena FC star Davitt Walsh.The former Maiden City academy player joined Declan Boyle’s U17 side and will be an integral figure for Harps in the LOI U17 league.We wish the talented midfielder all the best at the training camp next week.
